AMATSU MIK`E HOSH~I MARTIAL ARTS is a traditional style that was taught
from generation to generation of the family
of Taira Tokugawa Ny~jen as was handed down from his father and from his fathers, father. The many techniques are extremely
drastic. They recognize no coventional
rules. They are not intended for Amusement. Only in critical situations should they be used. Since any of the holds and strikes can result in injury caution should be Excercized in practice
in the Dojo and out of the Dojo.
Don't think that because you've never had to defend
against and attacker, you will have to someday.
I am 4th Dan Sensei Randy Powers and have been a martial artist since early 1970's.
I received my 1st Black Belt in 1975
in 1996 I received and tested for my 4th Dan. In December of 2002 I was Honored by testing and receiving by traditional requirments my 5th Dan Black Belt. The year 2002
brought many things of enlightment and I have been able to fullfill my life time accomplishment at the age of 45 to receive my Master Degree in Humanities. My oldest son Randy
has been awarded his 2nd Degree Black
Belt, as well as my youngest son Joseph who was tested for his 1st Degree Black Belt. In September of 2001 my wife Diana took an illegal hook kick to the head after the match
was over and it took her sight at which left her partialy blind by 80% in both eye's. She was operated on to restore her sight at which has been done. She can no longer participate
in full contact. But she is by our sides
as we strive to teach to those who wish to learn. As been known by most who know me and my family we dropped out of the martial arts circuit for awhile to get involved in
the freestyle forms and tournaments that allowed more freedom of expression through martial arts. It was at one such tournament that I met my future teacher and his teacher. I am
proud to bring to this webpage in the future
the full scale of what the years have brought and to show what it must take to achieve what has been and enlightment
Since then I have been teaching to indigent children and adults in south Texas and have
found that I am more content at reaching
those who can not afford the high cost of martial arts. I have been asked to establish a school in Bexar County for underpriveleged kids that wish to learn the diciplines
that have been passed to me.
In August 2001 Inducted into the United States Martial Arts International Hall of Fame.
In 1997 we lost Teacher 8 th
Dan Sensei William Randolph Price in fatal car accident on his way to his school. He is loved and missed by all who he taught and came in contact with.In January we lost Teacher 5 th Dan Sensei
West while he slept.
You can have the greatest skill in the world but if you do not know how to make
everything work as one you have failed to learn.
